AJ Coaching July & August Newsletter

July brought us to the end of the cricket season and what a magnificent season it was for AJ children this year.

Congratulations to all the boys and girls who played for AJ this season. They have done brilliantly and I am extremely proud of everyone.

The AJ Coaching Cricket Academy U12s won the semi final against Dulwich on the last ball of the match and reached the final of the NEC cup where they met Spencer.
On the finals day at Banstead cricket club AJ U12s played a cracking game of cricket to beat Spencer by 4 wickets. So they were the NEC cup winners and also joint winners of the league. What an achievement!

The hard work of our young cricketers is evident. This group of players have come a long way since last year through consistent hard work and purposeful practice.  Half of the U12 squad are still U11 so this is a special performance from this group.

Our AJ U10s have won the league and were unbeaten all season in the league.
What a fantastic performance from this squad. The hard work, persistence and dedication of these players should be highly commended.
They also reached the final of the NEC cup after beating Dulwich in the semi final.
On finals day they played a tight game against Old Whitgiftians but lost in the last over. This does not take away anything from this young squad and they have been absolutely amazing all season. 20 out of 24 squad players played in league matches which shows the strength and depth of this squad.

Our AJ U9’s finished the season very strongly wining the last 4 games which meant they earned respectable third position in the league. Amazing achievement from this squad, they have learnt and improved a lot this season. Their enthusiasm, attitude and commitment has been great in training and its very pleasing to see their hard work paying off.

Our young AJ U8s also deserve a lot of credit for a very successful season, they started the season strongly and continued their hard work and effort through out the season which meant they were also third on the table by the end of the season.

I am very pleased with the progress of the U7s and U6s this summer too and the signs are very positive for next year. I am sure they will do very well in the league matches. Can’t wait to see them playing in the league next summer.

AJ U5s have enjoyed their start to cricket this summer and showed great enthusiasm for the game. Looking forward to seeing them all back in the winter at Wimbledon College.

Success cannot be judged by results and I know this because I started the summer academy 5 years ago and the rewards of all the hard work is paying off now.
We should acknowledge and congratulate the commitment, hard work and performance of all our squads. This is the hard work of the last four to five years.

Social, mental and skill development of all the AJ boys and girls at AJ is at the heart of what we do at AJ Coaching Cricket Academy. All the coaches do their upmost to empower, motivate and encourage our young cricketers to enjoy the game and play to the best of their ability.

We evaluate their development clearly and objectively and give them space to grow. We take a tailored approach to providing the appropriate support for your child and I would like to acknowledge the immense value that our volunteer managers and coaches bring to the table in terms of nurturing and upskilling our young cricketers. We simply could not do it without them. Thank you.
