2005 Ashes winner Simon Jones “Will Visit” AJ Coaching Cricket Academy on Saturday 1st of July at 9.30am

I am hugely excited to announce that Simon Jones the 2005 Ashes winner has agreed to come along to one of the AJ Coaching sessions at Dundonald on Saturday 1st of July. For those who don’t know Simon, he was an integral member of England’s triumphant Ashes-winning team in 2005. Jones’s pace and mastery of reverse-swing carried him to 18 wickets at 21 in four Tests, before he was forced to sit out a nervy final match due to an ankle problem. It was an inspiring series win for England and Simon Jones was absolutely terrific in it. We are over the moon that he will be spending some time with the boys at the academy. He will be taking part in the coaching sessions and also answering a few questions on the day.

Q&A:  For the Q&A session I would like the boys to come up with some questions for Simon. Please can you kindly ask the boys to think of some questions they would like to ask Simon and then email those questions to me. I will go through them all and select 5 – 6 final questions. On the day, boys will be given a chance to to ask their specific questions to Simon directly. Please can you email the questions to me by the 7th of June!

The AJ U8 team is also playing Old Ruts cricket club in a league game at Dundonald Park on Saturday 1st of July from 9am, which will be fantastic and I hope the boys will be able to show their cricket skills to Simon!

There will be a marquee, coffee, tea and pastries to enjoy along with Simon Jones and myself.  We will be sharing stories into how we got into cricket and giving you an insight into our professional careers.

It will be a fantastic event and we would like you and your children to be part of it. Please make a note of this date in your diaries and we hope to see you all there.
