Dad’s T20 match!

On Saturday 2nd July 2016, AJ Cricket academy Dad’s played in the inaugural T20 match at Dundonlad Park. It was a fantastic afternoon of cricket, thanks to all the dad’s who made it special. This match was a tight affair, played in good spirit with some dad’s really showing off their cricket ability. Andy Allan played some magnificent strokes through the off side, Allan Border like! Sebastian Glass also hit some lusty blows to help Jaffer XI reach 105 runs in 20 overs. Jaffer was stumped on 4 by Eugene Caraiga who was outstanding behind the stumps. He made wicket keeping look very easy especially after putting the gloves on after 25 years. Top effort! Paul Robinson was the pick of the bowlers for Wood XI bowling with the new ball taking 2 wickets for 4 runs bowling at a decent pace and swinging the ball. Geoff Robinson also took 2 wickets. In reply Wood XI were struggling at 40-4 in 10 overs before Charlie Luckin powered 25 runs with 4 boundaries in quick time to get them to 75 for 5 in 15 overs needing 31 to win off the last 5. Jaffer XI tried hard to take wickets but it was a solid win for Wood XI in the penultimate over.

Thank you to all the parents for supporting the academy this season and for turning out to play in this match to end the season in fine style. It was great fun!
